Applying Privacy by Design to meet GDPR

We'd like to welcome a recurring speaker on Wednesday 21st of March. This time Michelangelo van Dam returns to talk about the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regulation which will becomes enforceable on Friday 25th of May 2018.
The lecture
On May 25, 2018 all companies collecting and processing data of people from within the European Union must comply to the General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR. You probably feel overwhelmed by the list of requirements and obligations that Europe is now demanding of you. In spite of all the "one-box-solves-all-your-GDPR-problems" sales pitches and tools that produce multi-page PDF's of things you must do, most of the work you need to do yourself. So let me help you getting closer to "done" in this session.
This talk will not give you legal answers, but it surely will give you technology solutions that will make your applications compliant to these regulations. Even if you're not processing data from the EU, these solutions will offer you easy-to-implement technological tweaks and low-impact improvements that will make your (web) application respecting the privacy of your customers, employees, contractors or any other person you're interacting with. Pay attention and you might even walk out with a valuable prize!

Michelangelo van Dam is a professional PHP consultant and Zend Framework expert working mainly for governments and larger enterprises. Michelangelo is also president of PHPBenelux (http://www.phpbenelux.eu/), a PHP user group operating in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, and speaks at several PHP conferences around the world.
About the location
The meetup is held at Connexx (http://www.connexx-blue.nl/) in the southwest of Eindhoven. Connexx provides us food (pizza) and drinks. Everybody is encouraged to attend about an hour prior to the Quiz, so we can have a chat while enjoying our food.
The building Connexx is located in, is near Veldhoven and the N2/A2 highways in the southwest of Eindhoven. Loads of free parking spaces are available around the building. Busstops are around the corner.
