From WordPress to custom Laravel applications

This time we have a presentation about Laravel, but not technically based. In this talk we'll find out why and how Way2Web changed from WordPress to Laravel.
The lecture
Peter Paul was hired by Way2Web (https://www.way2web.nl/) a year ago to help in steering the company into a new direction; creating custom web applications. At that time development was done using a custom-made minimal MVC-framework that could be embedded in WordPress for creating corporate/presence websites.
It begins with a framework
How did they come to choose Laravel? What challenges did they face? And how did they overcome these to be able to expand their development team and create complex custom web applications for their clients?

About Peter Paul Keulers
Peter Paul Keulers is a partner and Manager IT at Way2Web. Way2Web is based in Utrecht and specializes in creating complex custom Laravel applications.
In the last decade he has held various positions where he has been responsible for professionalizing web development teams. He has a love for everything about DevOps and is an Open Source enthusiast.
About the location
The meetup is held at Coosto (http://www.coosto.com/) HQ in the heart of Eindhoven. Coosto provides us a marvelous room with food (pizza) and drinks. Because of this, everybody is encouraged to attend about an hour prior to the lecture, so we can have a chat while enjoying our food. No more hurriedly eating around the corner... :)
The building is next to the Eindhoven trainstation and offers enough parking space in the basement. Coosto is located on the 5th floor.
About the meetup
• attending the meetup is free (as in free beer);
• free food (pizza) and free drinks are provided!;
• food is available between 18:00 and 19:00;
• prize raffle every meetup;
• the lecture will start at 19:00;
• spoken language is English unless not necessary;
• the presentation is in English;
• suitable for novice to expert level;
• hold at Coosto HQ (adjacent to Eindhoven train station);
• parking spaces are right under the building.
