Dockerize your unit tests for faster feedback

Details

On Wednesday 30th of November we'll organize a lecture about running unit tests in Docker.

The lecture

Ever got the message "Fatal error: Out of memory" when running your unit tests? Or do you have to wait for more than 5 minutes for all of your unit tests to complete? We're using Docker to mitigate these and other issues.

In this session Michelangelo will show you how he has split up a single testsuite of 3K+ tests into manageable unit modules which are executed by Docker micro instances in parallel. With this setup he tests an application on the current PHP version, but it also allows us to test against a new major PHP version the moment it is released or even is available in beta.

About the location

The meetup is held at Coosto (http://www.coosto.com/) HQ in the heart of Eindhoven. Coosto provides us a marvelous room with food (pizza) and drinks. Because of this, everybody is encouraged to attend about an hour prior to the lecture, so we can have a chat while enjoying our food. No more hurriedly eating around the corner... :)

The building is next to the Eindhoven trainstation and offers enough parking space in the basement. Coosto is located on the 5th floor.
